Happy Mother's Day: Sketch 208

Happy Bronco Sunday everyone!  Wow, my condolences to Patriot fans, but…. Super Bowl here we come!  As I do every Sunday, I have paper in hand, making the weekly sketch from Stars and Stamps over at Operation Write Home during the Denver Broncos game.  It's my "lucky" activity.  Here's my hand at the sketch.  Somehow I didn't see circles, but rather curvey lace and flowers, something different from my usual routine.  Well, have a great week, see you next week!

Disney Gang: OWH Sketch #207

Happy Sunday everyone, hope you're staying warm!  Just when we thought we'd melt a bit, another storm came through Colorado last night.  It's going to be a really frigid Bronco game today!  Well, onto this week's sketch is by Jennifer over at The Sparkle Within.

I'm trying to do a bit more kid's cards, so I dug out this Disney character paper that I bought way too much of, and you only use one square.  Sound familiar?  Then I googled Disney character sayings and whoa, off to the races.  It actually got a bit addicting creating, so much I had to stop or I'd miss the Broncos-Chargers playoff game! Best wishes to everyone for a great week.

2014 First Sketch of the Year

Good morning everyone!  Oh my, what a delight and an honor to have one of my cards chosen for Operation Write Home's Sketch of the Week, the first for 2014!  I've learned so much from OWH card makers this last year, I feel my cards have a little touch of each one of you, thank you!

I really love this sketch, so versatile, not only in paper but in shapes too.  I'm big on letting sentiments and the paper do the talking.  A little dry embossing doesn't hurt either.  At any rate, I got so excited that I made a couple more versions to show the versatility of this sketch, hope it gets your mojo going too!   P.S.  If you use a stripe in your challenge, jump on over to the monthly Our Daily Bread Designs challenge and link up your creation there too!

Operation Write Home Top 13

Happy New Year everyone!  Best wishes for a wonderful new year.   There's a tradition over at Operation Write Home to have card makers post their top favorite cards made during the year.  It's like a mini memory lane and blog hop, all at the same time!

The year has been really enlightening for me, as I realized I was developing a style, and could really identify sketches and papers that just "hit it off" for me.  Here's my favorite cards for  2013, thanks for stopping by.

Thank You: Sketch 205 & MWTD

Whew!  The holidays came and went in a flash.  I'm deep in the middle of making wedding invitations for my son and future daughter-in-law, so I have a quick moment to put together this week's sketch over at OWH.  Since I'm doing double time with the card and invitation making, I decided to do double time with the Midweek Throwdown.  The MWTD challenges us to make a color card in either red/white or green/white.  I chose green, think spring!  Well, back to the invitations, I'll post one when completed.

Tuesday Tutorial: Paper Punch Penguins

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!  Praise the Lord for he is King!  Today's Tuesday Tutorial over at Operation Write Home is to make a penguin card using punches (that is if you don't have a penguin stamp).  There is a special Brigadier General who is fond of penguins and requested a whole box of penguin cards.  Sandy challenged us each to make ONE special penguin card and she shared her talents by demonstrating several ways to make penguins with our everyday punches.  Thanks Sandy!  Here's my take on making a paper punched penguin:  Kid Style!  Best wishes to all!

Happy Birthday "Kid Style" OWH #203

Happy Sunday everyone!  Great sketch today over at Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps.  I love the simplicity, which is what I need right now!  We're a little behind the Christmas decorating curve, just getting the tree up today.   I usually like to mat everything, but thought to KISS as Marlene said, and create a quick, cute kid card.   Now onto decorating the tree, have a great week everyone.
