OWH Midweek Challenge: The Color Teal

Happy hump day everyone!  After a long day at work and business board meeting, I dragged myself home at 10 pm!  Checking on what's new at OWH Midweek Throwdown, I couldn't resist participating, even though its now 1111 pm. MST.  Ironically, this week's challenge is to use teal or turquoise as the main color, which is just what I had on my scrap wrangler table!  My rendition probably does not have as much teal as the challenge asked for, but it's 1111 pm!  At any rate, it's an easy card, an idea I got from several places, and it used up at least one piece of scrap dp!  Well, it's time for bed, see you back on Sunday.

Hero Mail: OWH Sketch #213

Good morning everyone, hope it's bright and sunny, with the snow melting in your neck of the woods! Another Sunday and another fabulous sketch from Operation Write Home, by the talented Deb S.  The minute I saw the sketch, I knew it would be fabulous for a Hero card!  This sketch is so versatile, using scraps and any fun shape for that little left hand circle (think stars, hexagons, circles, endless!)  Well, off to tend to the chickens, cleaning the hens pen and tend to the new chicks.  Here's to a great week!

Happy Birthday Sketch 212

Happy Sunday everyone, that means another great sketch from Operation Write Home.  Today's sketch came, courtesy of Lori from Stampursocksoff, click to see her inspiration card.  I'm a bit challenged when using little pieces and strips, so I let the ribbon do my talking!  Fun little card!  Take care, hope it's a great week.

World's Greatest Dad: OWH Sketch #211

Happy Sunday everyone!  Has everyone thawed out from the latest storm?  We got 4-5 more inches of snow, which luckily has started to melt, so much that we have little ponds all over our frozen yard!  I even heard a mourning dove this morning, ahhh, just a hint of spring to come.

Well anyway, back to this week's sketch over at Operation Write Home's weekly sketch challenge.  A fun, simple one courtesy of Carolynn at Hand and Hand.  Really great for some of those fabulous die cuts and digis.  Take care, hope you all stay warm out east, another cold front is coming!

You're The One For Me: OWH Sketch #210

Welcome back everyone, it's Super Bowl time!!!  I am really hoping for a great game, and of course, a Bronco win!  This weekend over at Operation Write Home is the Card Bowl 2014 and Sketch #210, all celebrating our heroes.  I decided to venture off orange and blue, just not to jinx us by using it too much!  Here's my take on the sketch and adding a masculine feel to it as well.  Well, here's to a great game!

OWH Card Bowl 2014: Denver Bronco Style

Happy Super Bowl weekend everyone!  Ohhh…. I'm so psyched here in Bronco land!  Just one short day from the biggest pro game of the year, are you wearing your orange and blue?  This weekend over at Operation Write Home is a fun 3-day challenge making cards surrounding the Super Bowl, creatively called Card Bowl 2014.  The first of three challenges to make a masculine card using the colors of your favorite Super Bow team, adding a fun little element specific to the team.

Well, as a native Coloradan, of course I'm rooting for the Denver Broncos.  Orange Crush and Bronco Blue abound!  One of my favorite players is free safety Champ Bailey.  Champ has never been to a Super Bowl and some may say, nearing the end of his career.  My fingers are crossed for a win for him!  I make my Miss You card in honor of Champ and a hero missing his little boy!  Well, here's to a great game, may the best team (Denver) win!!!

OWH's Our Daily Bread Design Color Challenge

Hi card fans, it's day two of Card Bowl 2014 over at Operation Write Home.  Card Bowl is three fun-filled days making cards that are masculine and incorporate a bit of the Super Bowl in them as well!  Today's card is brought to you by the sponsors of Our Daily Bread Designs, who generously donate shipping for two boxes to our heroes monthly!

I've fallen in love with the newest stamps and tools that depict gears.  Just says "guy" to me!  This month's ODBD challenge is a color challenge using brown and making a masculine card.  So I grabbed out the gear  embossing folder and went to work!  Best wishes for a great day, hope you have your Orange and Blue on!!
