OWH Mid-Month Throwdown Challenge

Hello everyone, although I'm not totally caught up with the latest Operation Write Home challenges, I'm venturing into today's Mid-Month Throwdown Challenge, which is to make a Miss You card.   And… I'm using OWH Sketch 242, one more sketch down!.

After spending what seem like eternity making pastel love cards, I returned to my love of bright colors.  I like how my card turned out, although a bit busy with the stripes and all those polka dot colored strips.  Cheery at the least!  Well, onto another catch up, take care.

Operation Write Home Sketch #241

Just a quick hello and a quick post catch up!  Here's to one more finished card!  I just love this sketch, simple, but easy to dress up with some embossing and a sweet sentiment.  Well, off to catch up another, take care!

DP: MME "Love Me"  6x6 pad
Embossing Folder:  Cuttlebug "Hugs and Kisses",  I embossed the top and bottom in two separate passes, so that the center was absent of embossing, made it nicer to adhere the printed papers flat to the card.

OWH December ODBD Challenge

Merry Christmas everyone!  Wow, time is flying at the speed of sound.  I've been making a few cards, but sure can't keep up with all the great challenges.  I love color challenges, so it was easy to jump into this month's OWH Our Daily Bread Design Challenge, which is to use Primary Colors.  Oh… I love bright colors.  I took inspiration from a past Featured Friday Card Maker, Kathy M.  I love her featured card, so easy to combine my cheery papers to her sketch.  Well. off to a few more unfinished holiday presents, best wishes for a wonderful holiday.

Black Friday "Red Friday"

Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, surround by your loved ones and lots of great food!  I know I did!  As part of the holiday weekend, many of us go shopping for that deal we can't live without, me, I shopped for more card supplies, LOL.  Over at Operation Write Home, they're turning Black Friday into "Red Friday" by supporting our nation's Heroes with love from home!

OWH is celebrating a blog hop, encouraging us to keep the love going, instead of slowing down for the holidays!  The blog hop has lots of inspiration, and I too got a bit more mojo from the ever talented Kristie over at The Best Things In Life Are Pink.  I hope you enjoy, and I challenge fellow card makers to send a few from your stash to OWH, keeping the holiday love going!

Happy Birthday Snow Angel

Hello everyone!  Short fall, shorter days, and still not enough time for cards!  I stole a few moments tonight to design a card for this month's Mid-Month Throwdown Challenge over at Operation Write Home, creating a winter birthday card.  In addition, I doubled up with Our Daily Bread Designs challenge using snowflakes.  Quick post for a quick card, add to my kid section!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Do you remember when you wished for Christmas every day?  Well, Sandy over at Operation Write Home has a small need for a few more Christmas cards and she gave us an extension to make a few (5) more!  Woohoo!  So I got out a favorite sketch and went to work, hope you enjoy!

P.S.  Keep checking in with Sandy for the latest troop needs!  Remember she needs only a few from each of us!

Happy Sunday everyone!  It's a great day, time to make a few cards with the latest sketch from Operation Write Home.  I just sooo… love this sketch, so much I made two different color ways, a guys and a gals one!  I hope you liked it as much as I did!  Best wishes for a great week.

I trimmed the bingo cards down, matted, and covered the
the original sentiment with a new computer generated one.

I so love this one, I couldn't decide which I liked best to post to OWH!

World Card Making Day 2014

Happy World Card Making Day everyone!  If this isn't a reason to celebrate the love of our craft, I don't know what would be!  Over at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps, we're celebrating WCMD by making Love cards, and guess what?  It's a blog hop too!  Over a hundred card makers participating, sharing their love for card making and for our Heroes, who give everyday, proudly protecting our country!   Well, off to blog hopping, hope it's a good one for you too!

P.S. Stop by Operation Rolling Tape Gun to see the latest news about the troops draw down and the card needs of OWH and our Heroes.  Early Christmas card delivery is almost here, Sandy needs versatile, year round type cards.

Thank You: OWH Sketch #240

Hello everyone, it seems like ages since my last post.  The garden is slowly winding down, the chickens are molting for their winter coat and the crickets are fading fast.  Ahhh, time for cards and winter hobbies.  The next bi-weekly sketch over at Operation Write Home is out and wow, did it challenge me.  I guess one gets less creative when doesn't practice!  Well, here it is!

Miss U / Love You: OWH Sketch 239 & 237 / ODBD September Challenge

Miss U everyone!  I don't know about you, but I've had a little drawdown withdrawal!  Even though there are plenty of sketches from endless blogs, I miss OWH weekly.  At any rate, I've managed to keep up with the sketches, just a bit slow in getting them posted.  I so enjoy everyone's cards and hearing from everyone.  Have a great week, see you in a couple!

Happy Sunday everyone!  It's that time again, for another sweet sketch from Operation Write Home.  This week's sketch is just perfect for a little Happy Birthday card for my beautiful daughter-in-law, Lindsay!  We were blessed to have her and our son join us for our annual Anderegg Family fishing camp, and it was her birthday too, extra special bonus.   Happy Birthday Lindsay!

It's Santa: OWH Sketch #235

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Another great sketch over at Operation Write Home, a very quick, easy and versatile sketch, courtesy of Danni at Danni's Dream.  I've decided to make Christmas cards with at least every other sketch,  hoping to have a fair showing with my next box to Sandy.  Sandy is encouraging us all to have our Christmas cards to her by October 10th deadline, she's promising "extra bonus points"  LOL!  Here's a quick link to the deadlines, hoping everyone will get the nudge to be early!.  Psst… spread the word.  Well, here's to a great week ahead, as for me I'm Gone Scrappin!

Hero Mail: Midweek Color Challenge

Happy hump day everyone!  It's that time again, another great midweek challenge from Operation Write Home.  This month, we're making Hero cards and today, we're to use red/white or kraft/blue.

I'm a relatively new card maker, only two years in earnest.  Well… when I started, I collected tons of ribbon, only to find I didn't really like working with ribbon!  So… I been trying out ideas to use up a portion of my huge stash!  I love the simplicity of this design, and it's great for a Hero card.  Well, off to make more cards and use up some ribbon!  Thanks for stopping by.

I don't know about you, but I have lots of patriotic ribbon!

As you can see, I bought lots of ribbon, in just about every color way!

OWH Sketch Challenges: #233 & 234

Hi all, wow, where does the time fly?  The dh and I have been doing a little state vacationing, so I've gotten just a bit behind on challenges.  I need to catch up on chickens and the garden too, but… cards first!  Priorities, right?  :-)

Here's #234.  I took a little creative license, as I didn't want the sentiment to cover up those wonderful anchors.

Now to #233, I just love those little cute guys!

Thankful: Operation Write Home Sketch #232

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a memorable 4th of July.  It's Monday, never too late to participate in this week's sketch over at Operation Write Home.  The dh and I went camping in the high country of Western Colorado.  We capped our weekend with a 7 mile hike to 11,000 feet elevation absolutely gorgeous mountain lake!  As I sat by the lake, I pondered on how truly grateful we are to live in such a beautiful country, protected by those who serve.  A big thank you to our heroes.

Today's posting on OWH reminded us of the card theme deadlines, which if you're like me, seem to loom so quickly.  So… being in the thankful mindset, I decided to make a Thankful card.  I also think it passes for OWH Virtual Card Making Party Texture Challenge.  Hope you enjoy.

Hero: Operation Write Home Sketch #231

Another Sunday, another great sketch! The original inspiration can be seen here, a fabulous card by Angie! It's been really hot here in Western Colorado, but even hotter where our deployed heroes are.  The 4th of July is coming on us quickly, I want to send out a big thank you to our heroes and all they do for us!

Country Boy: OWH Sketch #230

Happy Sunday everyone.  Just a quick post, as I spent the morning tending to the chickens and veggie garden, I still have laundry to do! Truth be told, I totally goofed off Saturday at Country Jam, an all day country music festival here in Western Colorado!  Today's sketch over at Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps features a great card from Diane.  Since I'm a country girl at heart, I decided to make a card in honor of all of our country heroes!  Well … back to the laundry!

I've been needing to make some love cards to balance out my next box to OWH, I seem to always not have enough love cards.  So, I decided to make a second card.  (Avoiding the laundry!)  I love MME Love themed pads, they all go so well together.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Color Challenge

Happy hump day everyone!  It's been a while since I've had time to even think at lending my hand to a midweek challenge, but here I am!  This week's challenge over at Operation Write Home is a color challenge, asking us to think summer and use teal and cantaloupe.  Well, I only have one piece of paper that even fit the challenge.  It's one of those multi-stack card stocks that have a pre-punch border at the bottom, one with a different bottom color than the top.  Well, I've had this pack for while, having trouble deciding what to do with it.  Since I'm limited, here goes!

The teal solid seemed to match the print much better in my craft room, oh well…. :-)  I'm wondering if I should take a snap shot of all the papers before I start, just to see if the camera says I match!  LOL!

Noel: OWH Sketch #229

Happy Father's Day everyone!  Our daughter took us out for breakfast, then we're having dinner with parents, but a little card making in between!  I'm a huge fan of circles, and this week's sketch over at Operation Write Home is just right up my alley.   I'm getting a jump on Christmas, as it seems I never start early enough.  Well,  here's to a great week, keep scrappin' everyone!

Love You Mom: OWH Sketch #228

Happy Sunday everyone!  This weekend is flying, a little chicken work, a little gardening and a whole lot of housecleaning!  We've been gone so much that I needed to catch up, but first this week's sketch at Operation Write Home.  I needed to make some general Mom cards, so go with my general Dad cards, and I was inspired by some flowers in my backyard.  Hope you enjoy both!

The actual card isn't quite this bright, my hubby's 5S iPhone sure brightened things up!

A little day lilies, roses and clematis.  My favorite spot in the yard!

Miss You: OWH Sketch #227

Happy Sunday everyone, hope it's the start of a great week.  We took a little vacation to attend another fabulous wedding, and to help our newly wedded kids unpacked into their new home.  We traveled by car, all the way to San Antonio.  Lots of American history along the way.  Well, it time to get back in the swing with the latest sketch from Operation Write Home.  This week, the sketch designer came up with two versions of the sketch, I'm partial to circles, so I chose version B.  Hope you have a great week.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!  I'm so excited to, once again, be part of Operation Write Home's Annual Memorial Day Blog Hop!  The only rules are to use red, white and blue and to use one of the OWH sketches.  I so love this weekend, lots of great cards with equally great inspiration!

I also love this weekend, as we all take time to remember our fallen heroes and active duty personnel for all the sacrifices they have and will make for our country.  We can't thank them enough.  A special thank you goes out to my son, Captain Tyler A, MD for his medical service to our veterans.   So without further ado, I'm off to hopping, have fun everyone!
