OWH MWT - Give It A Punch!

Hello everyone, I'm back from our annual family fishing camp, although I didn't catch the "big one", it was a wonderful trip!  We live in an absolutely gorgeous part of Colorado, for that matter all of Colorado is gorgeous.  Our family reflected on the blessings of God and our many service men and women, fighting for the American Dream.

This week's Midweek Throwdown over at Operation Write Home is to make cards using our punches or dies.  My favorite punches are circles and stars, and since I'm in need of a few more Hero cards, I thought I would put those to good use!  Until the next card, I'm gone scrappin!

Operation Write Home Sketch #183

Good morning everyone!  Today is the start of the Anderegg Family Fishing Camp.  I managed to tweak just enough time out this morning to get this week's sketch over at Operation Write Home done before we left the house!  I really love this sketch, simple, but easy to dress up and a great way to use up some of the bigger scraps from the 6x6 pads.  Hope everyone has a great week, wish me luck on catching a big one (fish that is!)

Operation Write Home Sketch #182

Good Afternoon Everyone,
The DH was away with the guys, mountain biking, which left me to craft all by myself!  Heaven!  This week's sketch over at Operation Write is perfect for those leftover scraps that we all hang onto.  I have a collection of Halloween scraps, which I knew would be just the ticket.  I matted the die cut with black and then fussy cut the mat, definitely not a task I want to do for mass producing!

It's been close to 100 degrees here for over a month, even my chickens have said ENOUGH already!  Here's to slightly cooler days ahead.  Have a great week.

OWH Design Bootcamp - Get Your Priorities Straight

Good evening, I think it's still evening.  A fun, long weekend camping kept me from getting to this week's sketch, but I was very excited to see Paula's latest installment in Design Bootcamp,  Her topic today is back on color, but this time, using color in the right proportions for the best visual impact.   So being one not to let a sketch go by, I also combined my color card with this week's sketch, 181, and I tripled up on the latest Midweek Throwdown making masculine cards.  Whew!

I used 60% tan/brown, approx. 10% navy and 30% red

I've been thinking of this red, tan and blue combo for a while now, especially with the thought in mind of using the burlap.  Burlap is so in right now!  I'm a bit partial to the burlap right now, as my son the "young doctor" is engaged and I had the honor of making his and his fiancĂ©'s Save The Date announcements.  They just went in the mail last week!  A bit involved, but a labor of love.  The kids are having a country wedding next April.  She's from Georgia and we're from Western Colorado  (farming and ranching).  I'm really pleased with the result.

Hi OWH #180 Sketch Challenge

Hi to everyone,
it's that time again, another sketch from Operation Write Home.  For some reason, I really struggled with this one.  I changed my design mind at least four times, and almost "bailed" to traditional red, white and blue.  Not that would have been bad, but I bought several new 6x6 pads, and I'm really stumped at using a few of them.  Oh well... here it is, I finally had to commit and just go with it.  Best wishes for a great week!
