Little Hero: OWH Sketch #218

Good morning everyone.  Another Sunday, another great sketch from Operation Write Home.  I got a jump start today, most of my time these last few months have been making wedding invitation folders (75) and wedding thank you notes (100) for my son's upcoming wedding.  Whew!  I could never have tackled this 2 years ago without the great teachings and inspiration of OWH family, thank you!  Well, here's my take on this week's sketch and a little peek at what has kept me soooo busy!  Have a great week.

Thank You: OWH Sketch #216

Happy Sunday everyone!  Just a quick moment to post my card using this week's sketch at Operation Write Home.  Spring has sprung, the garden needs cleaning and it's moving day into the big coop for the 4 week old chicks.  The little girls out-grew their brooder so quickly!  Best wishes for a great week.

Clean coop, waiting for the new little girls

Ahhh, lots of leg room now!

That's Country: OWH Sketch #214

Happy Sunday everyone!  This week's sketch over at Operation Write Home comes by way of a great card from Jeanette at Lagniappe, a great use of strips, stripes or even just scraps!  I'm trying to make a few more cowboy or country themed cards for a special hero request.  Nothing says country to me more, other than my chickens, than a county fair.   I chose to go sentiment-less, although the "tickets" have a few good phrases already built in.   Hope your's is a good one, see around the corner!

Our Daily Bread Challenge: A Big Texas Thanks

Happy first Saturday of the month everyone.  That means it's time for Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge over at Operation Write Home.  ODBD sponsors a monthly challenge, where for every 25 cards posted, they sponsor shipping for one box of cards to our heroes.  They even sponsor 2 boxes if we get 50 cards posted!  This month's challenge is to make thank you cards.  I did double duty, combing ODBD with Sandy's request to cowboy or western related cards for special unit request.   My son is stationed in San Antonio, so I immediately thought of a big sheriff 's star.  Not quite a Texas Ranger star, but you get the idea.  Well, time to mosey along.  Ya'll take care now, ya hear !
